The history of coffee in West Sumatra has already begun even before the era of the enactment of the forced coffee planting policy in 1847 by the Dutch colonial government. Geographical conditions support coffee to thrive in West Sumatra. At that time, Minangkabau people repeatedly went to Hajj from the results of trading coffee.
This coffee comes from Solok Regency, West Sumatera. Mr Jaya, the coffee processor, gave us this sample of coffee, and we were blown away by the complexity and sweetness of this coffee. The coffee is produced organically using natural fertilizers without pesticides which produce higher quality coffee. The farmers ensured that only ripe cherries were picked. After picking, cherries are manually sorted and cleaned under running water to minimize the bacteria and eliminate defects. Then, the cherries are slowly dried under the shade to maintain the qualities of the coffee for longer. After drying, the coffee beans rest for one month before removing the parchment layer.
Carefully processed, this coffee is fully packaged with exotic flavors! This coffee resembles the aroma of LAVENDER, with a bursting acidity like LEMON, and TRUFFLE OIL sensation, both in aroma and flavor. We think that this coffee is a real gem and definitely worth trying!
