Well recognized as one of the highest quality coffee producing regions, coffee from Kenya always gives us a pleasant surprise and exquisite flavors so we can’t resist sharing this beautiful coffee for you. This coffee is unique because its mix varieties, consists of Batian, SL-28, SL-34, and Ruiru 11 makes this coffee has a complex flavor and distinctive notes.

The farmers selectively handpick ripe cherries then carefully sorted at intake where under- and over-ripes, along with any foreign matter, are removed. The coffee is fermented for 16-24 hours under closed shade. After fermentation the coffees are washed and graded by density in wash­ing channels and are then soaked under clean water from the Gatomboya stream for 16-18 hours and dried in raised beds. Drying time is usually around 21 days of African drying beds, depending on the weather at the time. Workers turn it regularly to ensure even drying and cover it with plastic at the hottest part of the day and overnight to prevent cracking and/or condensation.

This coffee attracted us with a rich and complex cup profile, high-quality Kenyan that is balanced, complex, and full-bodied. You will get predominant intense and fresh APPLE in the aroma and flavor. Also underlined notes of BLACKBERRY, with a silky mouthfeel, all dressed with CRANBERRY-like acidity. Deliciously sweet and balanced. Anyway, who can resist Kenyan washed coffee?
