Bulambuli Strawberry
Strawberry | Peach | Sugarcane
We found an intensely sweet natural coffee from Bulambuli, Uganda.
Bulambuli is a district in Eastern Uganda with so much potential. It lies close to Mt. Elgon's Kenyan border and has the perfect topography and climate for specialty coffee. The farms are ideally situated to produce high-quality coffee. Sitting between 1/00 and 2300 meters above sea level. The varieties of this region are similar to Kenya, as farmers predominantly grow SL14, 28, and 34. The cherries come from smallholder communities and their farm are less than 1 hectare each. We can expect this coffee to turn into something sweet and have a complex flavor, given from the varieties and high attitudes.
As for naturals, the cherries undergo a thorough selection process when farmers deliver them to the Bulambuli washing station. They are then taken to the drying yard and fermented on drying tables, then dry-milled to remove the husks and parchment. The combination of post-harvest process, the varieties, and the unique terroir create a sweet taste experience with a mild, pleasant aftertaste. as you can get sweet and sour notes like STRAWBERRY, PEACH, round off with a background of long and sweet SUGARCANE. Ready to get excited? This coffee is something to look out for!
